Cannabis, also known as marijuana or weed, has a long history of medicinal use dating back thousands of years. In recent times, there has been
the country’s new prime minister plans to roll back that law in an attempt to end the current glut in the cannabis market.
Marijuana : กัญชาเป็นที่รู้จักในฐานะสมุนไพรหรือยาที่มนุษย์ใช้รักษาโรคมาหลายพันปี แต่ที่มันถูกตราหน้าว่าผิดกฎหมายในปี 1937 ส่วนหนึ่งก็เป็นเพราะกัญชาเป็นที่คาดการณ์ว่า จะเป็นศัตรูคู่แข่งของอุตสาหกรรมยาแก้ปวดและอุตสาหกรรมปิโตรเคมี (ก็ต้นกัญชามีประโยชน์เยอะอ่ะเนอะ ช่วยไม่ได้) ดังนั้น การที่รัฐบาลสหรัฐฯ ยุคนั้นออกมาประกาศห้าม มีความหมายเป็นการกีดกันทางการค้าล้วนๆ Marijuana (กัญชา) เป็นพืชพรรณผิดกฎหมาย กัญชาเลยมีศัพท์แสลง เรียกเพื่อเลี่ยงตำรวจเต็มไปหมด เช่น weed, pot, mary jane (โห ชื่อหวานมาก)
